COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION NEWSLETTER PROJECT

I am the maths teacher of 12th grade students. I think integration of technology and maths is very vital for succsess of students. In my maths classes, each students will be creating his or her own blog to assign their homeworks and to answer their friends’ questions. It will be also easy way to check their workings and answer their questions quickly. I searched three communication and collaboration tools such as Edmodo, ShowMe and Lino.

Edmodo:

Edmodo is an online networking application for teachers and students. It builds an online learning conversation with our class about the subject. It encourages a peer-learning and peer-support environment both in the classroom and online. Students really enjoy Edmodo!

Edmudo class groups will be created by me and each students will have access code to join the class. These access codes will be used only in the class, not the outside. Students can only communicate with whole class or me.  Private messages are not allowed. They will discuss about the topic between them and share their ideas online.

ShowMe:

ShowMe is the easiest way to create&share lessons on your Ipads, Android tablets and Chromebook. ShowMe is a website that allows teachers to create lessons to share with their teachers.

I could easily see this being used in my classrom to put on the classroom website for students go back and review their homeworks or before tests. This would allow for more time for students to collaborate during class time; they could even make their own lessons for group collaborative projects.

Lino:

Students can use lino to share photos and sticky notes. This would be a great tool for group projects where students may have to work at different locations or outside of schools. Students can share photos and notes with group members via online instead of having to meet up (which is more difficult for younger students). This is a cooperative and collaborative tool that can enhance student learning and progress.

I think using this internet source especially out of the class time. I am expecting from the students to send some photos which is related to the subjects in our daily lives and with sticky notes, ı am aiming to improve learning progress.
